Down with tyranny!

Catch this article from John Derbyshire in NRO

What is the answer to a trial for Saddam? I remember thinking and saying at the time of his caputre that they oughta shoot him, or have one of those old school police brutality-type moments where "he hit his head getting into the humvee."

This trial will be a travashamockery.

  1. This is interesting, because at the time of the Nuremburg trials, Justice Jackson, who was the chief U.S. prosecutor, was initially opposed to holding the trials. He originally felt that if the military wanted to shot the Nazi war criminals out-of-hand as a matter of policy, that would be fine, but he believed that it would be a mockery of justice to put them through sham trials in order to justify their execution at a later date.

Interesting how history keeps repeating itself.
